Every Release Is a Starting Line
The moment someone walks out, their coverage, their doctor, and their plan should already be in place.
Our Mission

Coverage is step one. We built what comes after.

The Inmate Health Access Program (IHAP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit operating inside correctional facilities across Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. We connect justice-involved individuals to their healthcare coverage, insurance guidance, and the full ecosystem of resources they need — before they leave custody and after they walk out.

IHAP works at three levels: training the coordinators and resource officers inside facilities so they can effectively get inmates signed up and prepared; connecting every person to their coverage and insurance information through the transition; and building an inmate-owned profile and wallet — a personal digital hub that connects each individual to every resource they need to succeed on the outside. Every year, 7 million Americans cycle through the justice system. Your gift helps make sure they don't cycle back.

🏥
Coverage Before & After Release
IHAP ensures every person can access their healthcare coverage, insurance information, and guidance both before they leave custody and after they're home. No gap. No cost to the individual.
🎓
Training Facility Coordinators
IHAP trains the staff inside jails who run resource programs and coordination — equipping them to get inmates connected, signed up, and prepared before release day, not after.
📱
Profile & Wallet — Coming Soon
Every inmate deserves their own digital hub: a personal profile and wallet connecting them to their coverage, benefits, and every outside resource they need. Your donation helps build it.
📋
Proven Results in the Field
In two years, IHAP's enrollment program has reached over 30,000 individuals — with 9,217 active lives connected today across 54 counties. Lee County, FL documented $5.9M in savings in Year One alone. Your gift accelerates what's already working.
How It Works

Train. Connect. Follow through.

IHAP is embedded inside correctional facilities — working with facility staff, inmates, and outside resources so every person has what they need before the gate opens.

1
Train Facility Staff
IHAP trains the coordinators and resource officers already inside the jail — the people who run the programs — so they know exactly how to get inmates enrolled, connected, and prepared before release.
2
Connect to Coverage & Guidance
IHAP ensures every person can access their health coverage, insurance information, and benefits guidance while still inside — not scrambling for it after they're out.
3
Coverage Activates at Release
Plans are structured to be active the moment someone walks out. A doctor, prescriptions, and mental health support available from day one — zero gap, zero waiting period.
4
Profile & Wallet Follows Them Home
The roadmap IHAP is building: every person leaves with their own digital profile and wallet — their coverage info, benefits, and connections to every outside resource they need, in one place.

"When someone walks out of a facility with no ID, no insurance, and no doctor — they come back. We break that cycle."
